In attendance: George Wright, John McCay (Minutes). 1. Apologies were received from Veronica Plowden (resigned) and Renate Ruether-Greaves (LBLambeth) 2.    The Chair welcomed the attendees and a round of introductions took place. 3.    Minutes of last meeting 3.1    The minutes of 8 October 2007 were agreed as a true record. 3.2 Matters arising 3.2.1    From Min 4.4 GW reported that the panel scrutinising the Portuguese Survey had decided to accept the latest draft revisions. These have been sent to the author. Trustees agreed that it was time to finalise this project. 3.2.2 JM has sent the map for the website. It has proved too large to put on the site and he is currently seeking the original to split into parts for web display. Action JM 3.2.3 Agreed that the meeting of the Forward Strategy Sub Committee should be set after we know the outcome of the Big Lottery bid. 4. Director’s Report 4.1  GW presented his written report and thanked Eileen Finch for all her work over the past few years. He added congratulations to her, echoed by the full Board, on receipt of an older persons’ civic award. 4.2 GW reported that both the Tudor Trust & Lloyds TSB Foundation had funding criteria which made them potential funders to match fund the Big Lottery bid. 4.3 GW stated that the Norwood Forum had been approached by Lambeth Council to pilot a Civic Assembly but the committee had expressed concerns about the top-down approach and would prefer to receive some financial support so they could develop organically. 4.4 GW reported that the three options being considered for the Annie McCall Hospital site all included the demolition of the building and encroachment onto the existing garden. ACAVA, a management company from Kensington, is proposed to manage the rented studios. A number of questions were asked by trustees and it was agreed that these should be sent to Ian Parker for clarification. 4.5 DC stated that Pal Luthra from Lambeth Council had discussed the delivery of a community-led evaluation of the Urban II (UII) project with him and that Razia from High Trees Trust had expressed concerns to him that the academic and statistical training were to be undertaken in Tulse Hill. DC added that he had run a similar training project recently in the UII area. GW stated that Pal was responsible for developing the project and he should address his concerns to him. GW stated the final details of venues and modules were still being agreed and it was desirable for trainees to be based in UII area. LBL had requested that SP submit its Urban II bid application for the project for consideration at the next UII Board. 4.6 DC reported that he was taking Lambeth Council to the Ombudsman for failure to pay him for work done on the UII Orchard project. 5. AOB 5.1 LA asked JM to take the Trustees through the nomination process for the forthcoming AGM. Trustees who wished to stand for election completed and submitted their nomination forms. 5.2 VG stated that he requested funding for his art class from GW. GW stated that he required a written application stating the capacity in which he was applying, the purpose of the funding and a budget specifying how the funds would be spent. He would then take a decision. GW confirmed that any funds would need to come from the CCP project and that funds were earmarked for generic activities for older people. JM stated that VG would have to update his register of interests to show that he was in receipt of funding from the Board and that the Board would need to carefully consider his request. 5.3 In response to VP’s enquiry, GW stated that the Bronze Woman Statue was “on track” with a student from Chelsea Art School working on a casting using Ian Waters’ maquettes. 5.4 GW suggested the need for an “awayday” for Trustees in the New Year.
