Age Concern
There are three types of grants available to voluntary organisations:
Opportunities for Volunteering scheme: up to £20k per year for three years. Applications must be received by the end of July for funding in the following financial year. Application packs are available from the Grants Unit with an accompanying guidance booklet of information. Contact the Grants Unit at the address below.
A one-off small grant of up to £120 is available to clubs for older people fornew equipment and activities. Decisions are made on a monthly basis.
Small service support grants of up to £2k, for new or expanding projects that cater for the needs of older people. Decisions are made on a monthly basis.

Awards for all
This is a lottery fund providing up to £5k for community projects that involve and bring people together to enjoy the arts, sports and other social activities. Awards for all will fund: equipment, events and start-up costs. Applications are normally processed within 12 weeks.

Barclays Social Responsibility Programme
This programme focuses on five priority areas: people with disabilities, education, environment, social exclusion and activities involving Barclay staff volunteers. The fund is available for voluntary organisations and community groups to apply for a grant from £1k- £25k.

Biffaward (Land Fill Tax)
This organisation has introduced a small grants scheme within the category of biodiversity as a way of improving quality of life and fostering vibrant communities. They are interested in project ideas that can have big effects and provide educationalopportunities. The grant fund is from £250 to £5k.

Camelot Foundation
'Transforming Lives' is a funding programme aimed at small to medium sized charities based in London. To be eligible your charity must work with one of the following priority groups; young people with disabilities, young people with mental health issues, young asylum seekers, young parents and those at risk of becoming a young parent. Applications can include salary costs, project costs and running costs. The grant available ranges from £10k and up to £90k.

Heritage Lottery Fund
The Heritage Lottery Fund is helping communities throughout the country to care for, understand and celebrate their heritage. The HLF is responding to community needs through a variety of grant-giving programmes, and by supporting many different types of projects. The grants are made through Awards for All and the Local Heritage Initiative and are particularly targeted at smaller groups. Community regeneration is a strong theme in many local projects.
