Have your say and help plan Stockwell’s Future
Please complete this anonymous questionnaire and you can be entered into a draw for two London Eye tickets.
Why are we asking these questions?
A European funded programme called “Urban II” has been running since 2002 in Stockwell. It has been trying to boost people’s access to jobs and training as well as strengthen community life and making Stockwell a more attractive place to live, work, shop and do business.
We need to know if we have succeeded – we need you to tell us how you think things have changed over the recent years. Whether you are new to the area or have been here a long time we would like your views.
So please fill in our questionnaire it should only take 10-15 minutes to you but could make a world of difference to Stockwell!

What will we do with the information?
First: we are going to try to learn about how well projects went, what we can do better next time and what the lessons are for other parts of Lambeth too.
Second: we are going to use all this information to help plan the future of Stockwell. We will produce a Masterplan for you to comment on showing how we think the community wants to see Stockwell in the future. We will also produce a Neighbourhood Action Plan about how services could run better for the community and how local people can join in and have a permanent say in making Stockwell a great place to live.
Can we really do all that planning just on the basis of a survey?
No, this survey is just one part of a whole range of ways that we will be researching what is needed – for example we will be interviewing over 500 local people, holding community conferences, using a wide range of statistics and studies of the area and consulting over 40 local groups (see the rest of this newsletter for details).
Is the survey confidential? Will you need personal data?
We don’t need to know your name and address just your post-code or street name. Each person completing the form can collect a free memory stick with information about Stockwell which you can then keep for your personal use. We do need you to sign and date the form as this is an audit requirement of the European Union (to acknowledge receipt of the memory stick and ensure that the information we use has come from local individuals). If you wish to enter the prize draw you will need to give us your name and a means of contacting you.
What if I have already been interviewed by the Community Researchers and answered all these questions?
You should only fill in the form once, however you could pass this form onto another member of your household or someone who works in Stockwell. You can collect more copies of this newsletter from the Stockwell Partnership at the address below and copies will be left in local community centres and libraries or you will be able to access it on the internet at www.stockwell.org.uk
Why are there questions about some things (like advice centres) but not about others (like housing)?
These questions are trying to get your views about the things that the Urban II programme has most affected. We will also separately be collecting information about other services such as Lambeth Council’s surveys and a wide range of other
data and we will use this all together later in the process when we hold community conferences etc. Apart from anything else if the questionnaire is too long no one would fill it in!
